Job Description

Simulations of semiconductor photodetectors

Desired profile, skills, and experience

  • Master/PhD in Physics, Material Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in finite element simulations (COMSOL, Synopsys TCAD)
  • Knowledge in semiconductor physics
  • Fast-learning person with a goal-oriented and practical mindset. Independent and proactive, with a sense of responsibility 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Some knowledge in photodetection and optics is a plus

Electronics Engineer

Job Description

  • Design, assembly, and testing of board-level electronics of photo-sensor systems (application prototypes and characterization platforms) 
  • Embedded programming of aforementioned systems. 
  • Photo-sensor characterization and system-performance measurement. Electrical and Optical Testing 

Desired profile, skills, and experience

  • Electrical Engineering/Micro-engineering degree (EPF/HES) with a focus on electronics 
  • Fast-learning person with a goal-oriented and practical mindset. Independent and proactive, with a sense of responsibility 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Experience in electronics system design and the related design softwares (schematic, PCB layout) 
  • Experience in PCB assembly with SMD components (soldering station) 
  • Experience in testing and debugging of electronic systems. Familiarity with measurement equipment 
  • Experience in embedded programming (ARM-based microcontrollers, C-language) 
  • Experience in higher-level programming (C++, C#, matlab) 
  • Some experience in FPGA is a plus 
  • Some knowledge of photodetection and optics is a plus
